Invisible Flock come to the Bubble Chamber 9 - 27th April

Invisible Flock with Hope and Social Bring The Happy are coming to the Bubble Chamber!

We are proud to be hosting Invisible Flock at The Bubble Chamber, with Warwick Arts Centre.

Invisible Flock's 'Bring The Happy' is an ongoing project about happiness, an attempt to map moments and memories of happiness in Coventry and across the country.

A first kiss, a lost love, a longed for baby, childhood heroes, a proposal, a dance, a chance encounter – where did it happen and how happy did it make you feel on a scale from 1 to 10?

For three weeks Invisible Flock will occupy the Bubble Chamber in Coventry and transform it into a giant 3D map of the city. From 10-6 every day you are invited to explore the map, discover what makes others happy and where, and in turn submit your own happy memory or moment to add to the ever-growing database of the country’s happiness. At the end of three weeks the memories collected will be taken and transformed into Bring the Happy Live a spectacular performance.

Somewhere between a wedding and a wake Bring The Happy Live attempts an extravagant portrait of happiness, as the 1000’s of memories collected are retold in all of their beautiful, sometimes tragic, sometimes ridiculous and occasionally mundane glory. In collaboration with Hope & Social the live performance promises to be an interactive, intimate and highly moving evening where we ask you to join us in celebrating the happiness of Coventry.

Invisible Flock are an interactive arts trio based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. They make large-scale interactive work, ranging from installations, games, and performance, digital and online work. At the heart of all their work is the desire to empower through interaction and participation.

Hope and Social are a 7-piece band who do things a little bit differently; “We wear blue jackets. We play mind-blowing, balls- to-the-floor, anything-for-a-laugh, much-more-for-a-tear, heart-on-your-sleeve, foot-on-your-monitor gigs. Not gigs. Shows. No, not shows...events. We’re gloriously and fiercely independent. We decided that entertaining people and making the songs we love is the most important thing in music. And we like people. We like involving people”

Cascades

Getting ready for our new interactive projection piece Cascades.

Cascades is an interactive digital artwork for urban spaces. Using projected digital imagery and technology we seek to pose questions about how we use our urban spaces, how we look at them and how we move within them.

Kit has been arriving and we have got a great Infra red tracking system working. Today I am going to be testing some of the set ups and visuals. Here is an image of the demo processing patches we are working on.

We Launch 2nd December at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry and then transfer the piece to the Bubble Chamber, now at 21-25 Hertford Street, the old JJB Shop thanks to some support from 3space.org

Cascades will be live after dark every night till January 2nd
